Savings Chart Update Week 3: Great Back to School Deals at Staples = $8.15 of Savings
I cannot believe my nearly 17 month old son will be a starting a toddler program in a less than one month. I refuse to call this school because I can’t admit my baby is old enough to attend school. Basically he will get to meet new little buddies three times a week, have snack time, play and hopefully learn a few things.
I recently received his orientation information from the instructor and to my surprise he needs school supplies. What?! I’m buying school supplies for my 17 month old? How funny. It seems like I just gave birth to him yesterday! Anyway, being the savvy shopping mom I am I scoured the latest ads for the best back to school deals.
Here are the back to school deals I scored:
9″x12″ construction paper $4.00 (Currently $6.29 on Staples.com)
Crayola Washable Crayons $3.00 (Currently $4.28 on Amazon.com)
Rose Art Washable Markers $2.00 (Currently $3.28 on Office Max.com)
His list also included inexpensive white paper plates which I picked up at my local Kroger. They were not on sale, so I paid the store price of $1.79 for 100. I actually picked up two sets since the instructor noted that the school would greatly appreciate donations.
I still need to get Lysol wipes, but my Staples store was sold out of them, so I’ll need to check back later. They are currently on sale for $4.99 for a 3 pack. The same Lysol 3 pack is $8.29 at Kroger where I would typically buy them, so I will save $3.30 on this purchase.
Savings Chart Week Three Total = $8.15
Again this week’s total is not enormous, but I am still mighty proud of my savings. After making my third savings chart entry, this brings my total savings to $2,424.11.
As a reminder, you can check out my Week 1 & 2 savings chart entries as well.
